Introduction
Kumarantham Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Kumarantham village, Sirkazhi circle, Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu. From west of Sirkazhi, a small road goes west and that is the road going to Panamangalam, after entering the town cross a road there is a Siddhivinayakar temple and two small roads go to the left and right. Both ways are difficult and this temple is on the south bank of Uppanar River without proper access. So if you go down from the bank to the inside of the river and walk in a somewhat flat area, you can see this collapsed Shiva temple along the bank. A Shiva temple to the east along the bank is half-collapsed and still standing. In the sanctum sanctorum, the Lord is in a beautiful and large form and is in a state of purity. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. In recent months, the peoples of Salem have brought a Nandi and started offering prayers to him. This temple was in thuraiyur border when the old Uppanar went, and when Uppanar was relocated, this temple came in the Kumarantham border.
