She promised to protect the region from the rain and sun, agreeing to be the custodian deity of the place. This dream led to the temple’s growth from a simple shed to a significant religious site in the village.
• Historical Names: The area was once known as Panchakshapuram, indicating that five celestial beings (Boodhas) worshipped Lord Shiva with idols made from five metals. The name Koradacherry is derived from Kurudarseri, meaning “blind people’s village,” due to the presence of blind devotees who frequented this temple.
