Introduction

Kalanivasal Shiva Temple is located in the Kalanivasal village, Tharangambadi circle, Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu. Kalanivasal is a small town, a school, two streets, a few shops, a government primary school, and this is the only temple is located at the gate of that school. A medium-sized lingamurthy is in small Shed to the east under a large royal tree. Ambikai is on a platform towards the south and in front of the Lord there is a small Nandi and there is a pond at the back of the temple. The temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.
