Puranic Significance
The period of Temple is 15th century. At the entrance in the facade and above it is a scene of a dark bull with a corpse lying on the ground. To the east is the Lord’s Sanctuary Arthamandapam, in front of which is a Mahamandapam, the walls of which are split vertically. The sanctuary of the goddess is situated towards the south. Near to the south there is also a small sanctum for Natarajar. There is a Nandi altar near this Maha Mandapam. A Vinayaka who was at the gate of the sanctum sanctorum was moved as the wall seemed to be collapsing.
