Deity: The presiding deity is Vasudeva Perumal, flanked by consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi.

Puranic Significance

The temple is connected to the teachings of Lord Krishna to Arjuna, about renouncing the fruits of action.
Sri Anjaneya (Hanuman) is seen as embodying these teachings through his selfless service to Lord Rama, choosing Earth over Vaikunda (Lord Vishnu’s abode) to continue chanting Rama Nama.
The temple was built by a Chola king on the banks of the Arasalaru River, a tributary of the Cauvery River. A shrine for Sri Bhavya Anjaneya was also constructed in the temple.
