Introduction

Irandam Kattalai Kailasanathar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Irandam Kattalai village, Kumbakkonam circle, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. Irandam Kattalai village is eight km away on the Ayyavadi- Ammankudi road. This is the second of the seven command villages given by King Tulaja to the Thiruvidaimarudur temple.This east facing temple is very dilapidated condition, here the Presiding deity is called as Lord Kailasanathar is facing east and Mother is called as Lord Kamakshi is facing south side. The Temple entrance is on the south side. Apart from the sanctum sanctorum, only the Sandesar shrine remains. The wall is also damaged. The temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.
