GRANDEUR OF AYODHYA’S RAM TEMPLE: ARCHITECTURAL MARVEL AND CULTURAL OASIS”

  1. The temple is built in a traditional 3-storied style at Yothi Nagar.
  2. It has impressive dimensions, being 380 feet long, 250 feet wide and 161 feet high, with each floor being 20 feet high.
  3. The temple features 392 pillars and 44 doors.
  4. The main sanctum sanctorum houses an idol of Lord Rama, and on the first floor, there is a Sri Rama Darbar.
  5. There are 5 halls in the temple, namely Nitya Mandapam, Rang Mandapam, Sabha Mandapam, Prayer Hall, and Kirtana Mandapam.
  6. The pillars and walls of the temple are adorned with statues of various deities.
  7. Devotees can enter the temple using 32 steps from the eastern direction.
  8. Facilities like ramps and lifts are provided for the convenience of disabled and elderly people.
  9. Four temples dedicated to Lord Surya, Goddess Bhagwati, Vinayaka, and Lord Shiva are located at the four corners of the temple complex.
  10. There is a temple of Annapurani in the northern part and a temple of Hanuman in the southern part.
  11. Near the temple, there is a historic ancient well.
  12. The temple premises include statues of Maharishi Valmiki, Maharishi Vashishtar, Maharishi Vishwamitra, Maharishi Agathiyar, Nishad Raj, Mata Shabri, and the wife of Devi Ahilya.
  13. In the south-west part of the temple complex, at Kuber Tila, the statue of Jatayu and an ancient temple of Lord Shiva have been restored.
  14. Iron was not used in the construction of the temple.
  15. The foundation of the temple is built with a 14-meter thick layer of roller-compacted concrete, giving it the appearance of artificial rock.
  16. A 21-feet high plinth is constructed using granite to protect the temple from underground moisture.
  17. The temple complex has a sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, water supply for fire protection, and an independent power station.
  18. A Pilgrims Facility Center (PFC) with a capacity of 25,000 is being constructed at the temple to provide medical facilities and locker facilities to the pilgrims.
  19. The temple complex also has facilities such as shower facilities, toilets, hand washing basins, and open taps.
  20. The temple is constructed using traditional and indigenous technology of India.
  21. The temple emphasizes eco-water conservation, and the 70-acre site is 70 percent green.
  22. The temple is surrounded by a 732-meter long and 14-feet high wall.
  23. The temple is built on an area of 57,400 square feet.
  24. A museum about Lord Rama is planned to be built within the temple premises.
  25. A wax museum is planned on 2 acres within the temple premises.
  26. Canteens and recreation centers are being built on the banks of the Sarayu River in Ayodhya.
  27. Huts have been set up for devotees and tourists coming to Ayodhya.
  28. Ayodhya city has been developed with 8 different features.
  29. Ayodhya is set to be the first city with artificial intelligence technology.
  30. Ayodhya is being made the first solar city of Uttar Pradesh.
  31. Ayodhya Deepa Utsavam is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
  32. The Ayodhya temple complex covers a total area of 71 acres.
  33. 95 percent of the marble stones used in the construction of the Ayodhya temple have been quarried from the state of Rajasthan.
  34. 17 thousand granite stones, each weighing about 2 tons, have been used for important construction works in the temple.
  35. A total of 21 lakh cubic feet of granite stones have been used in the foundation of the temple.
  36. Construction joints have avoided using normal cement mix based on the advice of experts.
  37. The foundation of the temple is built without digging a trench to a depth of 12 meters, with advice from I.I.T. Chennai.
  38. The sand used in the foundation of the Ram Temple was arranged to turn into strong stone in 28 days.
  39. Every part of the construction is built with a combination of modern and traditional techniques to minimize the need for repairs in the next thousand years.
  40. Despite an earthquake of magnitude 6.5 in Ayodhya, the construction of the temple is ongoing without any damage.
