Introduction

Chottalvannam Vishwanath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Chottalvannam village, Kilvelur circle, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. There is a temple on the east side of the road here; the villagers call it as Pillayar Kovil. Here the Presiding deity is called as Vishwanath and Mother is called as Vishalakshi, this is a newly built temple, Lord Vishwanath is facing east, there is a big front hall in front of him. Vinayagar Subramaniyar at the gate of Karuvarai. Opposite is Nandi. Along the northern wall are Ambikai and Sandesar. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
