Introduction

                                Attur Shiva Temple is located in the Attur village, Kilvelur circle, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu. This Shiva temple on the roadside is a small temple facing east. To the east is the Vinayagar Temple and adjacent to it is the shrine of Lord Shiva. It is a sad fact that the name of the Lord is not written even in the temples which have been made after spending lakhs of rupees. Only God is here. Among Karurai Kotams are Tenmugan and Lingotpavar durga. There is Lord Saturn leaning against the wall in the absence of Brahman. A large hall has been built at the front, which is suitable for holding small ceremonies. The Temple is believed to be 500 years old.
