Introduction
Pasupatheeswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Arasankazhani Village, Kanchipuram District, and Temple’s city of Tamilnadu. The temple is believed to be 1000 Years old shiva temple. Presiding deity is called as Kalyana Pasupatheeswarar and Mother is called as Periyanayaki. The Temple is located at about 500 meters from Arasankazhani Bus Stop, 13 Kms from Tambaram Railway Station, and 20 Kms from Chennai Airport. Arasan Kalzhani is a very old village in the Kanchipuram panchayat. The “Shivalinga Thirumeni” and “Nandi Thevar” were in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. There is Separate Santcum for Lord Ganesha, Murugan, and Mother Periyanayaki. In this shiva temple Mahashivrathri and Karthki month (October) festivals are celebrated in great fanfare.
