Introduction

Annugudi Shiva Temple is located in the Annugudi village, Mannargudi circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. An ancient Shiva temple has been destroyed in this Annugudi village. From this, only the lingam and Vinayagar were kept and worshiped in a shed. Later, with the great efforts of the villagers, the temple has grown to the extent that it has been decorated with the main colour and has large sanctuaries for the Lord and other deities. Here the Presiding deity is called as Lord Shiva, in the form of Lingam; the lord name is not known, other sacred deities are also made. Only the finishing part of the temple is remains. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
