Introduction

Location: Lower Ahobilam, Ahobilam, Andhra Pradesh; also known as Lower Ahobilam Temple.Deity: Lord Vishnu in the form of Prahladha Varada Narasimha, where Lord Narasimha is seen blessing Prahlada.Puranic Significance:

Lord Narasimha, in His peaceful form, was worshipped by Sri Srinivasa Govinda of Tirupati before marrying Padmavathi Devi.
The temple houses the utsava deities of Pavana Narasimha and Jwala Narasimha.
Known as Chinna Ahobilam or Diguva Tirupati, it is a revered place for devotees of Narasimha.

Beliefs:

Worshipping Prahladha Varada Narasimha at Lower Ahobilam is considered essential before visiting the main temple at Upper Ahobilam.
After worshipping here, devotees also visit the Nava Narasimhas (Nine Narasimha Temples).
Devotion at this shrine is believed to grant the grace of Lord Narasimha and Goddess Chenchu Lakshmi.

Special Features:

Pillars of the temple feature representations of Lord Narasimha in ascetic form, bestowing ascetic orders to the first Jeeyar of Ahobila Mutt.
Another common depiction shows Lord Narasimha wooing his consort Chenchu Lakshmi on the pillars at both Upper and Lower Ahobilam.
