Introduction
Adiyakkamangalam Kashi Viswanatha Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Adiyakkamangalam village, Thiruvarur Taluk, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. This town is located at a distance of 6 km on Thiruvarur- Keevalur road. This small temple is on the main road facing east side. The temple is spread over an area of one acre with a surrounding wall. It may have been built during the reign of Nayak. Here the Presiding deity is called as Kashi Vishwanath and Mother is called as Kashi Vishalakshi is small idols in the sanctum. Opposite it is the Nandi devar. There is no evidence that only Tenmugan is present in Karurai Kotam.
The temple is said to be more than 1500 years old. A small temple is built on the right side outside the front hall and a concentric wheel is formed on its top. It seems that they have left it empty knowing that this place should have been created for Anjaneya and Lord Shani should be placed in that place according to the rules of Agama. Durgai has a separate sanctum sanctorum towards the north. Shani Bhagavan is in the North-East. There are two Nagas nearby. A simple temple without proper maintenances.
