Puranic Significance

• The temple is believed to be 1000 years old, with a history linked to an Adhishtanam (tomb) of a sacred person, although the saint’s name and period remain unknown.
• Notable features include:
  • Sculptures depicting a sage with his disciples and Kama Sutra art.
  • Another Shiva linga located under a neem tree about half a kilometer from the temple.
  • A sacred tank is present within the temple complex.
  • A map of the temple is uniquely sculpted at the shrine’s entrance.
  • The temple features five parivara deities in beautifully carved niches, showcasing the artistic skills of ancient artisans.
  • The Rajagopuram (main entrance) is partially dilapidated, contrasting with the otherwise well-preserved structure.
