Introduction
Achuthamangalam Makhilapuriswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Achuthamangalam village, Nannilam circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Achuthamangalam is a small village in the south of the Nannilam circle. Arjuna means always unblemished and this place was called Arjunamangalam because of its unblemished supreme body and later became Achuthamangalam.
There are also some who say that the city was created by Arjuna, one of the Pandavas, and was called Arjuna Mangalam and became Achuthamangalam. It is said that all five had five temples here. Dharmeswarar • Kashiviswanathar • Somanathar and This Makhilapuriswarar on the south side is the fourth temple. On the right side of the road is a west facing temple, the temple is in ruins without worship and there are no deities inside the sanctum, the Lord has a west facing sanctum, Ambigai has south facing sanctum.
