Introduction

This Small town is located 12 km northeast of Karaikal. The temple is dedicated to lord shiva as Agatheeswarar and its consort Gnanambika. Varichikudi is a small village located in the Kariakal district. Vetchi is an area rich in red flowers, hence the name of the town is called as Vetchi Gudi. The Varadharajaperumal Temple is located a few hundred meters north of the same street as the Shiva Temple. The temple is owned by the Hindu Temple Department. The temple is about 1000 years old and has been in a dilapidated condition for many years. The old temple was demolished, Currently the Lord and Goddess are alone in a tin shed.
