The he temple has undergone timely renovations. But the temple still in dilapidated condition. Sadly, this is not a protected monument with the state or the centre archaeology department. It was built in 16th Century in Vijayanagara Style. It’s the old template located in Gundlupet town. The temple was constructed during the rule of King Chikka Devaraja Wodeyar of the Kingdom of Mysore during his reign from 1673-1704 A.D apparently in response to the taunts of the Maratha prince of Tanjore.
