Introduction
Melakidaramvillage is located at a distance of 10 km from Sayalgudi in Ramanathapuram district. The village flourished during the Jain period. There is an ancient Shiva temple here called Thiruvanantheeswara mudaiyar. There is a separate shrine to Goddess Sivagami. The temple does not have a flagpole. The temple complex has symbols of the Jain period. The Thirunageswarar Temple, built by Maravarman I Sundarapandian I in 1236 B.C. Evidence for the construction of the temple dates back to the reign of Rajendra Chola I. The temple was later rebuilt by the Pandya and Sethupathi kings. Were maintained. The temple was buried in the mud due to lack of proper maintenance during the day. Currently, the puja is being conducted by the people there.

Beliefs
It is believed by the devotees that the marriage ban will be lifted and the child will be blessed as Ketu is the site. It is widely believed by the devotees that those who have nagatosham can come here and worship the nosathosham. Before the start of the war in the Ramayana period, Vali and Sukheeran worshiped the source here. Proof of this is the monkey-shaped sculpture carved in the rock at the place where Hanuman set foot.
