Introduction

Kattumannarkoil- Kandakumaran- 4 km from the Puthur road, there is Perungalur. The word kalam refers to Shiva himself. Perungalur may have been the big town. It may have been a slightly larger temple and later ruined into a single sanctum .Ambikai and Ganesha is in the sanctum sanctorum.
