Introduction
From Srimushnam – Rajendrapattinam road 5 km. There is the village of Nagambandal, Gangaikonda, the capital of the Cholas 30 km north of Cholapuram. The temple is Located in the village. Currently, these towns are known as serpent worship sites. The temple is slightly covered from the main road Nagambandal village, here on the east bank of a large pond in front of the town. The temple towards is the Shiva temple.
Puranic Significance
The small brick temple is the shiva temple. primary deity sanctuary facing east, the mother sanctuary facing south. The Nandi before the Lord with good workmanship. Ganesha in front of the sanctum sanctorum of the Lord and Subramanian is in the small balconies. At the gate of the sanctuary of the Lord, the lines are drawn like some symbols in black stone. There is a wall around both sanctuaries. The temple is in ruins without being properly noticed by the locals. Tree plants are beginning to grow, soon to be repaired.
