Introduction
Sreenarayanapuram Mahavishnu Temple is an ancient Vishnu temple in Kerala, India. At a distance of 1.5 km from Vadaserikonam Junction on Kallambalam-Varkala Road. This temple, also called Sree Narayanapuram, is believed to be about 700 years old. This is a Sikhara type having a combination of early Vijayanagara style of architecture with local forms and features. The square Thrithala type of superstructure cloister namaskara mandapa, granite foundation and walls are the main features of the temple. The carvings, especially of the namaskaramandapa, show the characteristics of early Vijayanagara style. Here the primary deity is lord Mahavishnu. The centre gopuram of the temple sculptures are in bad shape. Special poojas are taken. There is scared pond near the temple. The temple is belonging to 14th Century. It’s under the control of Temple trust.
