Introduction
Ammachatram is located in the eastern part of Kumbakonam. Just before that is Pillaiyampettai. There is a bus stop on the highway but the town is about a kilometer north. Pillaiyar must have been that hood. Like the Gangavicharjan, the Cauvery continues to divide into six rivers, the Veeracholan-Cauvery division into two. Pillaiyampet is located to the south of Veeracholan. The Shiva Temple is located on a small path that leads to the river alone from the town. Temple worship is declining due to the isolation of the temple and is currently largely unnoticed by any mother. The temple is dilapidated without proper maintenance as it is a brick shed. The entrance is only at the entrance. The round walls have collapsed and disappeared. Cross-sectional cracks …. Only the Ganesha shrine has been rebuilt and unfinished, of which has left the remaining limestone shrine on the Murugan shrine. Sanders Sanctuary is a state of being buried in the soil. The hall in the northeast belongs to Sani Bhairavar, which also looks like a betel nut stained tooth. Ganesha idol, Nandi of Ambika Many idols are still missing. # “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K. Vijayan, these are extracted from his posts”.
