Introduction
Hakanda temple (Hankanda Mandir) is located in the Maynapur is a village and a gram panchayat in the Joypur CD block in the Bishnupur subdivision of the Bankura district in the state of West Bengal, India. The Hakanda temple is an important landmark in the village. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord shiva in a form of lingam in Hindu mythology.. the temple is completely ruins state. The big festival of maha Shivaratri is celebrated here yearly once. There are broken idols are placed outside the temple. There is a small pond near the temple, the temple is in the place of the market area. Hankanda Mandir is the oldest shiva temple in Maynapur village. The temple has been classified as a Monument of National Importance by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
