Introduction

Mayiladuthurai – Thiruvarur Road is at 8 km. Nallur Joint Road One km west of here is Melmangai Nallur There are two villages of KelMangai Nallur and these villages are on the banks of the river Veeracholan. Archaeologists have unearthed a 1000year old temple in the town. The temple has inscriptions of Rajendra I and his successors. Although the temple is in ruins, a new temple has been built with the stones found in it. So you can see that some of the inscriptions are upside down. The temple faces east and the goddess faces south. Ganesha Murugan is in Prakaram. In the sanctum sanctorum, there are Thenmugan, Linkodpavar, Brahman, Durga.
