Introduction

Kizhur Shiva Temple is dedicated to lord Shiva, Located in the Kizhur village, Kurinjipadi Taluk, Cuddalore district, Tamilnadu. On the National Highway from Vadalur to Chennai, a short road leads just east of the North Police Station, 4 km from Kizhur. It is said that there was a Shiva temple built by the people in the area. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. The temple, which had decayed over time, had been kept in a shed for a long time. It now has only a Shiva lingam and in fronts of it a Nandi, Datsanamurti and a bust of broken Ambika. A new temple is being erected on the site of the present temple.
