Kaitha Shiva Mandir is located around 3 km from Ramgarh in Jharkhand. There are tridents and murti of Hanuman in the temple complex. There is also a cave in the temple complex which leads to the nearest pond.

Puranic Significance

The east facing temple was constructed during the 17th century and a part of the temple was used for military purpose. The main Shivling worshipped in the temple is placed at a height of more than 12 feet and is accessed by stairs. The main Shivling has a five-hooded naga canopy. There are tridents and murti of Hanuman in the temple complex. There is also a cave in the complex which leads to a nearby pond. This one was built when Ramgarh was the capital of the Ramgarh Raj. The Royal Family used to worship here. The main temple ( Shiva) is on the first floor where the original shivling is placed alongside the newer one which was put in 2005. The ground floor has a place which is the start point of a tunnel for safe passage of the Royal Family. It also houses a closed chamber and place where snakes are specially fed milk by the devotees of Lord Shiva. There is a well inside the temple which is somehow connected to the nearby lake.
