Introduction
This temple is lying abandoned located in Vizhinjam, near Trivandrum Kerala. and was built by the Ay kings who ruled over the city of Thiruvananthapuram as the capital of Vizhinjam. The people of Vizhinjam, an old port and commercial city, can get a closer look through this temple. Temple is now lying in ruins and is under control of Travancore Devaswom Board. A fish market now operates opposite to this temple. Ay dynasty built this temple when their capital was shifted to Vizhinjam in Kerala. Mahakali and Bhairava was worshipped here as the Guardian Deities and blood sacrifices were offered to the Deities before the Ay Kings waged any war.
