The Rajaram Temple, dedicated to Lord Rama, is an ancient and historically significant temple located in the Khalia village of Rajoir Upazila in the Madaripur district of Bangladesh.

Dedication: The Rajaram Temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, a revered deity in Hinduism.
Historical Origin: Historical records suggest that the temple was built in the 17th century by Raja Ram Roy, a zamindar (landlord) of Khalia. However, the exact date of construction remains uncertain.
Protected Site: The temple complex is now preserved and recognized as a protected site by the Department of Archaeology (DOA), indicating its cultural and historical significance.
Architecture: The temple’s architecture reflects the rural Bengal style of Bangladesh. It is a two-story rectangular structure with distinctive features. The ground floor has six chambers with a rectangular flat roof and five large arches, while the upper story has three chala roofs with five smaller arches. The structure also includes a dochala (ekbangla) section between two chau-chala structures, which is a characteristic feature of traditional Bengali temple architecture.
Dimensions: The temple occupies 23 percent of the land and has the following dimensions: 20 feet in length, 16 feet in width, and 48 feet in height.
Terracotta Decorations: One of the notable features of the Rajaram Temple is the presence of terracotta decorations on the walls and pillars. These terracotta plaques depict scenes from the Mahabharata and Ramayana epics, adding to the temple’s artistic and historical value.
Worship: Zamindar Rajaram Roy Chowdhury, the builder of the temple, is said to have personally worshipped at this temple. While the specific date of construction is debated, it is widely believed to have been built around 1825.
