Introduction

Shirsad is a small Village/hamlet in Wada Taluka in Thane District of Maharashtra State, India. It comes under Shirsad Panchayath. It belongs to Konkan region. This ancient ruins Shiva temple is located in the midst of a dense forest. Reachable after a rocky hike, its black stone temple completely destroyed. Temple is under supervision of ASI (Archaeological Survey of India). There are many carvings on the pillars and wall of this temple and they depict various mythological stories are all in ruins State.. Shiva in the broken lingam form and broken Nandi guarding the main sanctum sanctorum. 900yr old ancient Shiva Temple is located in shirsad village.
