When Mars or Kuja Graha is positioned in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house of a horoscope, it casts its influence on the seventh house, which is associated with marriage, the life partner, and the spouse. The most severe form of Manglik dosha is observed when Mars is placed in both the 1st and 7th houses. The seventh house is traditionally regarded as the house of marriage and the spouse. According to Vedic astrology, the presence of Mars in the seventh house is considered unfavorable for one’s marital life. Mars, or Mangal Graha, is deemed the most malefic planet, often referred to as “Papi Graha,” particularly in relation to marriage. Its placement in specific houses is believed to result in Manglik dosha. When a Manglik girl marries a non-Manglik spouse, incidents of death or severe accidents have been reported among many couples, which can lead to the death or permanent disability of the non-Manglik spouse. The placement of the Sun, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu in the mentioned houses can also contribute to a partial Manglik dosha.

Kumbha Vivaha is typically performed when a girl has Manglik dosha in her horoscope. It is ideally conducted before marriage on a Tuesday or any other auspicious date, chosen in accordance with the girl’s Rashi nakshatra (zodiac sign).
