Introduction
The Kothandaramar Temple in the neighbourhood of West Mambalam in Chennai. The temple is dedicated to the god Rama known as “Pattabhirama”. Sita as “Piratti” is the consort. The temple also got a large temple tank built within the premises. The temple is situated close to the Mambalam railway station and is more than 150 years old. Vaikunta Ekadasi is celebrated with fanfare.

- Sri Hanuman shrine is near the main gate.
- Mother Ranganayaki’s shrine is on the left side of the main temple.
- Inside, Sri Rama in coronation form is present along with Sita, Lakshman, and Anjaneya.

- This temple is next in importance to the Bhadrachalam temple for Sri Rama’s coronation form.
- The Villendiya Kothanda Rama, Sita, and Lakshman idols were installed in 1920 and are placed behind the coronation Rama.

- The temple has shrines for Sri Ranganatha, Yoga Narasimha, Azhwars, and Andal.
- There is a small Nandavan (temple garden).
- Thirukkulam (temple pond) is famous, and the Theppa Utsavam is celebrated annually.
