- Significance: The name “Vadavarimangalamudayan” is found in a Chola inscription at the Agatheeswaramudayar Temple.

Puranic Significance
- Orientation: East-facing temple.
- Main Features:
- Five-tiered Rajagopuram at the entrance.
- Copper flagpole in front of the Lord.
- Lord Arunachaleshwarar’s sanctum faces east; Mother Unnaamulai Amman’s sanctum faces south.
- Arthamandapam (front hall) before the Lord’s sanctum.
- Additional Shrines:
- Vinayagar and Murugan shrines in the prakaram.
- Ganesha statue near the temple.
- Bhairava and Shaneeswar in the north-east.
- History:
- Built in 1917 AD by Sokkappamudiyar using 1845 bricks.
