    • Jalandran’s Penances: Jalandran, after performing penance to Easan, became powerful and cruel. To defeat him, the gods prayed to Easan, who appeared as Suyambu and killed Jalandran.
    • Durvasa’s Curse on Indra: After being humiliated by Indra, Durvasa cursed him, leading Indra to pray to Easan at Thirumathalambakkam to regain his lost wealth. It is believed that three sacred plants—Nellie (Ishvara), Agathi (Thirumal), and Tulasi (Mahalakshmi)—appeared here to bless Indra.
    • Raja Raja Chola’s Victory: Raja Raja Chola, after praying to Easan at Thirumathalambakkam, won a great battle against Pallavamannan and Puthiyagangaimannan. The temple is over 1500 years old.
