Introduction
Rani Tal Nahan is dedicated to lord Shiva; Located in Nahan Village, Sirmaur District of Himachal Pradesh, A miraculous Shiva temple is located on the banks of Rani Tal Lake in Nahan in Himachal Pradesh. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
Puranic Significance
As per the people residing in the region, new Shivlings appear in the yoni pitha from time to time. At present there are seven shivlings in the sanctum sanctorum. Naha is around 62 kms from Ambala. Decorated with black serpents the yoni pitha faces away from the entrance of the temple. There is a youthful Nandi facing the sanctum sanctorum. There is a small cave which is supposed to be ended at the King’s Palace. People believe that the queen used to come and take bath in this pond. It is for this reason the pond got the name Rani Tal. There is small temple dedicated to Goddess Lata Devi. A statue of Lord Shiva is also found at the edge of the pond. A temple located near the lake, devoted to Shiva attracts pilgrims in large number during Mahashivrathri.
