Introduction
Agastheeshwarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Kiliyanagar village in Achirappakkam Taluk of Kanchipuram District. This Temple is located approximately 16 Kms from Mathuranthagam. Presiding deity is called as Agastheeshwarar and Mother is called as Akilandeswari. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. This is a very ancient temple, its walls full of various inscriptions. The main deity Sri Agastheeshwarar is made of sand. Saint Agasthiyar made this Sivalingam and performed pujas. Ambal is facing the east direction, which is a very rare feature. There is a pond in this temple. Popular belief is that this temple is very auspicious for performing marriages. This Temple is located in Kiliyanagar Village in Achirappakkam Taluk in Kanchipuram District of Tamil Nadu State, India. It is located 44 Kms towards South from District headquarters Kanchipuram, 14 Kms from Achirappakkam and 93 Kms from State capital Chennai.
