- Location: Karaiyur Village, Thiruvarur Circle, Thiruvarur District, Tamil Nadu.
- Deity: Lord Agatheeswarar (Shiva) as the presiding deity, facing west.
- Goddess: Soundaranayagi, positioned south of the sanctum.
- Other Deities:
- Valli Theivanai Samedha Murugan in the south-west.
- Vinayagar in the north-west.
- Two Suns in the north-east.
- Dakshinamoorthy in a separate mandapam (south).
- Durga to the north.
- Karurai Kottam present.
- Nandi in the hall in front of the sanctum.
- Reconstruction: The present temple was rebuilt after the older one was destroyed.

- Connection to Sage Agathiyar:
- Sage Agathiyar worshipped in sacred locations to restore balance to the earth after Lord Shiva’s marriage in Kailasam.
