Introduction

Hajariya Mahadev Temple is located in Mandi Bamora , Sagar , Madhya Pradesh . Temple was constructed in 7th century A.D during Kalachuri Dynasty. It is 57 miles north west from Sagar district headquarter. The Hajariya Mahadev (Shahastra Shivlinga Temple is dedicated to lord Shiva.. This Shiva temple was built here in one night. There are the ruins of several temples preserved in Sanctum by ASI. Hajariya Mahadev Temple (Shahastra Shivlinga Temple) is about 10 kilometers to the southwest of famous Archaeological Gupta site Eran.

Puranic Significance

Built in 1200 BC, there is such a Shivalinga statue in this temple, in which one thousand Shivling is seen simultaneously and this temple is recognized by the name of Hazaria Mahadev Temple. The occasion of Shivratri, devotees from far and wide will reach here to see Shiva in the temple. It is said that the Bauli of Mathalapur, the pillars of Bhojpur, the Dehra of Udaipur and the Madh of Madhbamora were built in a single night. After this the village of Madhbamora was settled here. Idols of other deities are also installed in the temple premises. Looking at the stone from which the temple is made, it is known that the temple was built in the Parman period 1200 BC. There is no priest here, the devotees of Bhole themselves offer Belpatra and other worship materials on the Shivling.
