- During the journey, Rukmini became thirsty, and Krishna drew water from the Ganges by striking the ground with his toe. Rukmini drank the water but neglected to offer it to the sage first.
- Feeling insulted, Durvasa cursed Rukmini to live apart from Krishna. This legend explains why Rukmini’s temple is located at a distance from Dwarka’s main Krishna temple.
