Introduction

The temple is believed to be dedicated to Lord Shiva 16 Pillar Temple is a ruined Temple located in Barsur Town in Dantewada District in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. The temple is situated on Jagdalpur to Bhopalpatnam route.

Puranic Significance

The Temple was believed to be built in 9 th Century AD by Nagavanshi Rulers.

Special Features

There is no idol found in the temple. The temple is completely destroyed, Surrounded with large number of trees. The design of the pillars and sculptures in the pillars are similar to Danteshwari Temple.
