Injar Shiva Amman: Meenakshi
Introduction
The Meenakshi Amman Temple was built in the Sivakasi Injar Village in the year 1236 AD during the reign of the Pandya king Sundarapandian. There are 18 Swami idols like Lord Shiva as the source and Goddess Meenakshi as the power, Ganesha, Murugan and Ayyanar. But now there are no statues. There are only inscriptions, paintings and beautiful statues on the temple hammer art. Nandi Bhagavan is in the open.. Surrounding Putharmandi, the entire top of the temple is littered with trees. All the idols are in ruins. It is said that there is an underground tunnel under the Moolavar Sannathi of the temple, which is the way to go to the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai and the Sri Andal Temple. All the idols of Swami here have been stolen. Temple Moolavar idol was stolen in 2017. When the Nandi idol was stolen, the villagers saw it and chased it away Around this temple there must have been a city large enough to say garden, chariot roads, lotus pond. But there are still some anti-social activities going on like(liquor around the temple). The temple is now in a state of disrepair.
