Introduction

Samudram is a large village located in Manapparai Taluka of Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu. This ancient temple is dedicated to lord shiva as Sri sundareswarar and its consort Sri meenakshi ambal. The temple is complete ruins in state. The history of the temple is unknown. The stone idol of the main deity Lord Siva is slightly broken, Nandi is placed outside the sanctum. Ganesh and Murugan idols are kept under the big tree. Village peoples believed that this temple is more than 1000 years old Shiva temple in Samudram Village. The temple gopurem is dilapidated condition. And it surrounded with karuvelam tress. No pujas are taken place here.
