Introduction

Kayavur is a small village located on the road to Pattukkottai, and the east of Karambakudi in Pudukkottai district. The temple is dedicated to lord Shiva and his consort Selangaranayaki. Plants have sprouted in the ancient plane of the temple. In front of the temple is a beautiful Pond with turbid water. Inside the temple they are the shrines of Lord Shiva, Ambal, Ganesha, Lord Murugan, Chandikeswarar, Bhairvar, Sun, dhashinamoorthy and Gaja lakshmi. Outside the temple are Navagraha Sanctum and the Great Shiva Linga. Anointing services are held on special days.
